Closure ------------------------------------------------------------- I N T R O D U C T I O N ~=======================~ This FAQ, my second one for Dungeon Siege, will tell you how to build an All-Star character. The information in this FAQ will tell you how to quickly level up and be a very successful player. I personally tested a few of these tips and at Day 1 as playing with my new character, Luthe, I went from a level 0 Corpse to a level 22 Sorcerer. If you seek the fastest level up, this guide is meant for you!! ..::: Version :::.. +-- Version 1.6 I added more contact information and some formulas that are used in the game. I also added a Contents list :))))) +-- Version 1.0 This is the first version *duh*, it should be complete with primary information. Knowing me I will probably update it though :) ..::: Contents :::.. I) Beginning II) Development III) Items IV) Formulas - NEW!! V) Closure ------------------------------------------------------------- B E G I N N I N G ~=================~ Now, your own actions will decide how we start out. First, on your newbie character, if you have your newbie knife continue on. If you dont have your newbie knife you need to start a new character. Why do you need your knife? So you can enter the chicken level later on. If you are starting a new character you need to consider what kind of skill the character will be using. Combat Magic, Nature Magic, Melee Weapons, or Ranged Weapons. DO NOT use another skill at one period of time besides the one you have decided to train on. If you are training in Melee Weapons and you have already started, you cannot change to Ranged Weapons for the rest of your time.. that will mess this whole concept up. In the following section or two you will be given information on how to progress through with the skills you have started with. A lot of people ask what kind of skill I think that they should start out with. Most of the time I suggest they should start with Combat Magic. I recommend this because of good long range attacks that are better than Ranged Weapons. If you want to use something esle, like Melee Weapons, that is fine with me. Combat Magic has the fastest leveling though. There will be instructions for all methods of skill. ------------------------------------------------------------ D E V E L O P M E N T ~=====================~ Alright, this section will be the FAQ for leveling up. I hope you pay close attention if you want to be successful in leveling up to at least level 60 in two days! Alright, start out in the Kingdom of Ehb map. Go talk to Norick (thats... Colonal Norick, the boss of the chicken level LOL) and he will give you the quest to go to Stonebridge. Alright, every monster you see you need to kill so you can get your level up to at least 5. Once you are level 5 follow these instructions : If you use Combat Magic --- I'm not sure of the specific level you must be to get a Combat Summon. Get up to that level though. Once you are that level, go to the Utraen Penninsula. When you are in the Utraen Penninsula (or UP for short) [make sure you start in Eldimm!] go into the Grasslands that are close to Lang. Follow the signs until you reach Lang Mire. Now, use your summons to eliminate some of the weaker creatures there. DO NOT get close to the enemy unless you are the bravest person alive. After you have finished with Lang you should start the Chicken Level quest (read my soon to be posted Chicken Level FAQ for more). Go to the Eldimm Magic Shop. There should be the seller person and a sorceress there. Talk to sorceress and keep reading and saying 'More'. She will finally say that her grandmother lost a stone in the Ancient Crypt. Go find the Eldimm Townstone in the Ancient Crypt and then bring it back to the sorceress. She will let you keep the townstone and give you a ring. Keep collecting the townstones until you have all eight of them. When you have all eight townstones, go to Hiroth and place them in the circle. An elevator will pop up so go down it. You will see a book lying on the ground. It is called 'Trial of Gallus' or something like that. Pick it up and KEEP IT. Now go to the Kingdom of Ehb on multiplayer. Start in Jeriah's place. Go into the Crystal Caverns and find Fury's Eye. Now go to the Chicken Level and get the best loot you can and by then.. you should be a fair high level. [[ Note ]] It may take more than two days to reach level 60. I played continuously non-stop. If you use Nature Magic -- Nature Magic is pretty much the same thing as Combat Magic. You need to make sure you collect all of the money you can while you are going on the plan. Nature Magic is about a good of a choice as Combat Magic so I would recommend it. If you use Melee Weapons -- I suggest using Melee Weapons after you have mastered one of the other skills, this way you will have a back-up skill. If you want to start with Melee Weapons, I will warn you.. leveling is undoughtly SLOW. Start in Ehb and proceed with the entire story until you have beaten the Final Boss of Ehb, that "Gor" dude. You should be about lvl 40-60 in a few days. If you use Ranged Weapons -- As with Melee Weapons, I suggest using this skill after you have mastered one of the magical skills. This way you will have a back-up skill to use in case of emergencies. Ranged Weapons probably go a little faster than Melee Weapons do because Ranged Weapons are... erm... ranged. Instead of going through with the Kingdom of Ehb, try doing the UP. ------------------------------------------------------------ I T E M S ~=========~ Alright, I dont have a list here yet because these things are difficult to pin down without hacking. Although.. I dont really thing you would need a list. All you have to do is find those rare items we have all heard about that increase 1, 2, or 3 of the ability you want. Never take something that increases 11 or 22 of the ability you want. These items have attributes such as 'of Colossus' that were never intended to be used in the game. Make sure you get 1, 2, or 3 of the ability you want though because if you get some other ability it wont help. For example : If you use magic you need Intellegence and Combat/Nature If you use archery you need Ranged skill and Dexterity If you use melee you need Melee skill and Strength ------------------------------------------------------------ F O R M U L A S ~===============~ There arent many formulas here yet but I hope they help. Heres the key : A = Ability c = Combat Magic n = Nature Magic s = Speed S = Strength $ = Gold m = Melee Skill r = Ranged Skill l = Level A+ = -s This explains that as your ability in any skill such as strength, or combat magic goes up, the speed of it decreases. (c + n + m + r) = l This explains that whenever you add up all of your levels they add up to your 'uber' level. ------------------------------------------------------------ C L O S U R E ~=============~ I had a lot of fun writing this Character Management FAQ.
